Salesforce is seeking an experienced AWS-focused DevOps Engineer that will lead in the full product lifecycle from design to post-deployment management of AWS infrastructure and automation. The role will also focus on developing and supporting the continuous delivery and integration processes of highly scalable systems. They will be part of a growing team, ensuring the performance, security, and observability of the team’s AWS cloud-based platform. As we’re rearchitecting components of the existing service, this position will also give one the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation of new technology alternatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, automate, deploy, and maintain cloud-based AWS production systems using Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes

• Script and automate manual system tasks using Terraform, bash scripts, and other similar technologies

• Support and have a strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Troubleshoot systems and provide problem resolution across Salesforce applications that interface with the AWS platform

• Work collaboratively with other members of the product and development teams during product development to define infrastructure and deployment requirements

• Lead the migration of updates and system changes into production and dev environments

• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Take ownership of the DevOps aspects of our products

• Identify areas of the system or processes that can be improved, automated, or handled in better ways

• Help shape the future of microservices and service ownership at Salesforce

• Communicate effectively in a cross-collaborative inclusive workplace

Foundational skills (Required) :

• 3+ years of DevOps experience with a strong focus on deploying, maintaining, and managing AWS Cloud infrastructure

• Expert in Docker, Kubernetes (EKS on EC2)

• Expert in Terraform, Helm

• AWS IAM, EKS, S3, EC2, VPC, KMS, EBS, Route53, ELB, and other related AWS services

• Familiarity with Jenkins or ArgoCD or Open Source CI/CD Frameworks

• Comfortable with Java/Python, *nix command line, and basic systems administration

Secondary Skills (Desired):

• Istio

• Prometheus

• Postgresql

• Vault

• Knowledge of web services (REST, RPC)

• Understanding of web security (SSL, TLS)
